The Columbia River is full of great Marine Parks and islands with sandy beaches. The water is still COLD though! In St Helens, Oregon (97051) the city parks dept has a shuttle that will take you out every hour on the half-hour to Sand Island. Great public moorage, facilities, and alot of warm sand. Nice shade and trees for camping overnight.
After Shad Fishing we picked up Mom and the little guy and hit the beach. No hesitation for the younger kids to get in the water!
Here is one happy dude - who cares about sandy hot dogs, or buggery root beer! He's living the dream... and no, we are not paid to advertise for A&W, though we should be...
