Salmon Exit Success - Survival Rates to the Ocean

Reading some of the Fish Commission's recent reports (www.critfc.org) and thought this was interesting. The survival rates of yearling chinooks heading out to the ocean is going up.

The last third of the journey from Bonneville Dam seems to take the highest toll on the fish... any ideas what this could be? Around the dinner table eating BBQ'ed salmon we believe it is pikeminnows and predators.
