Home Repair #39 - Busted Water Faucet Pipe

They built our house with long-valved water faucets on the outside of the house... to protect against freezing in the pipes. They work great, but sometimes we forget the hose is attached in the winter.
This faucet had the hose attached so water was left up inside the valve and it froze. Split open pretty good. A replacement was $25.
I took the old one, cut out the break, and soldered in a joiner sleeve for $0.59. Now I have a backup for the next time it happens ;-)
