Last of the Garden Corn

Here are some 'ornamental' corns we grew - they are really cool looking!

Lots of different colors, and they are tiny.

Anyway... the corn left in the garden is getting pretty old. The chickens love to eat it, but they don't get it all.

The nicer pieces we are saving, drying, and shucking to try grinding our own cornmeal.

Shucking the kernels off is easiest when they are very dry and hard. Then they come off fast.

We've got a pretty good pile drying now in the garden house.

The other cobs need more drying. We busted them off into half to help them dry faster.

Stay tuned to see how the cornmeal turns out!
